Happy birthday, Duke

Posted on August 24, 2015 by Kell

Happy 125th birthday to Duke Kahanamoku, father of surfing and five-time Olympic gold medalist. Duke, a Hawaiian native, popularized surfing in the 1920s when he traveled the world as a swimmer, giving surfing demos along the way. He makes a cameo in MIRA TELLS THE FUTURE, and he’s today’s Google doodle.
